ISN'T SKY TRASH OR WOT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So the new Sky Multi-Channel package has come into effect and what
does it now contain. O.K., including the foreign channels there is
now around 32 channels to drool over and waste away the batteries in
your remote control because you keep flicking through the channels to
see what's on.
Old favourites like Sky News, Eurosport, Sky Movies, U.K. Gold are
still there. But now there are more channels such as Nickelodon,
Bravo and Discovery. The thing that I find most rediculous is that if
you don't subscribe the only thing that you can watch now is Eurosport,
The Cartoon Network, TNT, CNN and the foreign channels. Ooooooh. SO
now your have gone from `excellent choice' to no choice at all unless
you splash out loads of money just so you can watch Simpsons and Star
Trek. Tut!
Also, the TODAY newspaper said of the Satellite awards, that the fact
that the Simpsons was voted best cartoon show shows the deteriation of
society in Great Britain has now reached a new low. Well, I don't know
about everybody else but I think the Simpsons are excellent.
(Yeah man! - Ed)
Talking of Star Trek......what?......oh, wasn't I? Never mind.....
It is rumoured (or rumored in American) in one of the Satellite magazine
(the name is left out because they haven't paid us the advertising fee
yet), that there is going to be another version of Star Trek with a
different ship (Excalibur or Excelsior, I can't remember) with only a
crew of a hundred and a fraction of the size of the Enterprise. It will
take place about the same period of time as the Next Generation and
Deep Space Nine so the writers can merge the crews together in some
stories. The aliens will be more impressive, and not just blokes with
different shaped bumps on their heads. My question is will Cheif
O'Brien be transferred onto that ship as well?
Gears "The Ed" Bit...
Hey, has anyone noticed that Star Trek : The Next Generation was good
for a while (you know, aliens doing stuff and the crew being attacked),
then it entered a kind of "moral issues" phase. This was mostly in the
4th and 5th series. Most episodes involved a character having some kind
of problem and ended up talking to a hundred other people about it.
There was a sub-plot, which usually involved the Enterprise
encountering something, but this didn't seem as important as before.
It was as if someone had nicked the script from Eldorado and bunged it
into the Star Trek background.
And The Simpsons... what the hell do TODAY know ? Nothing. The writers
of that article would rather go home and watch Coronation Street than
see something funny!
